The Family Handyman

To position a box fan at "just this peak" or "simply that angle"without risk of disaster, take a one-half hour to build this adjustable stand up.You'll demand:

■ Two 3-in. x 3/iv-in. ten 38-in. boards for the risers

■ Two 5-in. x three/4-in. x 22-in. boards for the anxiety

■ One 3-in. ten 3/4-in. stretcher board cutting the same width every bit the fan

■ Two 5/16-in. x 1-1/2 in. wagon bolts, washers and wing nuts Mark and drill several 1-in. spaced 3/viii-in. holes on the upper ends of the risers for adjusting the fan height.

Screw the risers to the stretcher board with two 2-in. drywall screws on each end, so saw curved ends and a 14-in. x 1-in. deep recess on the feet boards. Spiral them to the risers with four 2-in. drywall screws.

Marker and drill a 3/eight-in. hole midway on the fan'due south vertical sides, so remove one grating from the box fan to slide in the carriage bolts, threads pointing outward. Decide the fan elevation you lot need, and so attach the fan with wing nuts. Put it to piece of work and y'all'll requite reader Charles Oursler a standing ovation for designing a fantabulous fan accessory for store or home use.
